Christmas Traditions: The 12 Days of Christmas

It's December 13, which means only twelve more days until Christmas! Woo-hoo! Or maybe oh crap! I still have much to do on my Christmas To Do List, but we started one of my favorite family traditions today, so mostly woo-hoo!

Last year on Pinterest I found a great Christmas activity. Jennifer at The Craft Patch provides stories and a treat for each of the twelve days leading up until Christmas.

We did this last year for the first time, and it was so fun!

I wrapped each of the twelve treats up individually, so we get to open a present each day. Who doesn't love opening presents early?

This year I printed up the stories and put them into a file. Last year I rolled them into scrolls and tied them to the top of the corresponding presents. I think the file is going to keep my papers better, so I don't have to reprint them every year.

I then put all the wrapped gifts and the file with stories into a giant wrapped box that read, Open on Dec. 13th. Oh the anticipation!

Today we opened the giant box and read the first day story. I love how the stories bring the Spirit of Christmas into our home. The treats are an added bonus.

One of my very favorite things to do this time of year is to sit by the Christmas tree and warm fire while enjoying the simple company of my family. Dad's stories are always fun too!

I also do a Twelve Days of Christmas just for my man. I give him a small gift each day leading up to Christmas.

What are your favorite Christmas traditions?
