Easter at Zion National Park

Easter morning the kids awoke in Grandma and Grandpa's camper. They went outside to find their Easter gifts.

Afterward, we went to church and then headed to beautiful Zion National Park. We took the tram tour and took a little hike up to Weeping Rock.

Our drive back to the campground was eventful. Shay got pulled over (He didn't get a ticket.) followed by Cayben puking all over the back seat of the Suburban. We stopped at a little market to get some Lysol/ odor killing stuff because although we had already stopped to clean up the boy and the Suburban, the smell was killing me. The kids found this cute dinosaur to play on at the market.

As what happens often, Easter Day, itself didn't end up being as Christ-centered as I would hope. We went to church, prayed, read scripture and enjoyed the majesty of God's creations, but it still was lacking. Fortunately we tried to have daily devotionals the week leading up to Easter Sunday. We used these devotionals created by our friend and former neighbor.

I feel blessed to have a testimony of Jesus Christ and His resurrection. I'm thankful for a day (or week) to celebrate Him and his ultimate sacrifice for us! Happy Easter!

Spring BBQ

Our friends, the Cheneys, invited us over for a Spring BBQ and Easter Egg hunt. They are always rockin' the fun activities!

Anyway, they fed us delicious food, had a game and egg hunt for the kids, and then topped it all off with cake and ice cream.

Oh, and the weather was absolutely perfect too. It made for a wonderful Spring Saturday. I always feel so optimistic and happy this time of year. Love it!

Solee found an egg!
Solee found some candy. It of course went right to her mouth, wrapper and all.

Painting Playdate

Cayben requested I throw him a painting party. I wasn't up for throwing a party (totally out of character, right?), so we had a playdate instead.

Cayben's bestie and his little bro came over Thursday afternoon. I had a couple painting activities for the kids (water color on canvas and painted wood animals), snack, and rice crispy paint brushes that they got to dip in paint (white chocolate).

They all had fun!

Solee enjoyed the rice crispy treats!

Locks of Shay

Every few years I get my hair cut off and donate it to Locks of Love, which provides hair pieces to children in need.

This time I brought my hair home first, which proved to be fun times for my man.

I had to quickly send it off before Shay took claim of it.
