Temple Trip with The Cheneys

We went to LA this weekend to worship in the Temple. We drove down on Friday and stayed in the temple apartments. Our friends, the Cheneys, met us later that evening and stayed in a connecting room.

We enjoyed spending time with our friends at a favorite place! The kids had fun exploring the beautiful temple grounds.

Cake Smash

Jen Hazen Photography is at it again. I asked Jen to photograph Solee's upcoming birthday party and she suggested we do a cake smash shoot as well. What fun!

She was getting out of there until we brought the cake.
I would not expect my kiddos to hesitate when encouraged to stuff sugar-y goodness into their mouths, but there is something about setting an entire cake in front of them and then staring at them that makes them all freeze.

After a lot of finger dips and licks, Solee eventually caught on.

My Girls

My amazing photographer friend, Jen Hazen who took our most recent family pics, captured some super cute in-studio shots of my girls.

Am I blessed or am I cursed with these beautiful girls?

Emberina Ballerina

Embrie has started her first dance class and it is way too cute! She just loves dressing up in her leotard and tutu and twirling around.

Gaviota Peak

Shay and I hired a baby sitter and went on a hot date. We hiked/ biked up Gaviota Peak. It is beautiful up there. We didn't quite make it to the top because I'm slow and because our obligations to our children. The ride down was absolutely fantastic. I love my new bike!

Mother & Son Luau

Hawaii was calling, or at least the rec center, so Cayben and I went to get our Hula on! The city hosted a Luau for mothers and sons, so of course I wanted to take my favorite little guy for a night of dancing, limboing, and time spent together.

We started the night with a photo-session...

We even got some with The Lou...

Afterward we jumped in the Jeep and headed to Yogurt Creations to have ourselves some frozen deliciousness.

Next was the dance. Unlike his daddy, neither Cayben nor I won the limbo. Although, we both came in 4th in our divisions. Prizes were awarded to the top three finishers in each division. We were oh so close.

Cayben didn't want to stay too long. We left and met up with the rest of our family and the Cheneys to play some games. It was good times all around!
