First Day of Spring Break

Once again we're not leaving our local area for spring break this year, which is really sad, but we'll try to make the best of it anyway.

On Monday we had a wonderful family day together. We swam at Carson Hot Springs; visited the lake and ate at our favorite pizza joint in South Lake Tahoe; and then went back to the hot springs in Carson City. It was a fun, fun day!

By the time we got home the kids were worn out!

The Difference a Week Makes

Last Sunday church was cancelled due to snow. This Sunday the kids played in the sprinkler. I hope the latter weather stays around awhile!

Sunday Hike in the Snow

Church was canceled today due to "inclement" weather. Reno is funny with snow. They cancel everything when it snows. You would think that this isn't a four-season place for how they react to snow. But anyway, I usually like when things get canceled. I like a little hiccup to my routine.

We lounged around the house most of the day, but by evening Shay was done and urged us to get out. We decided to go for a snowy stroll up Keystone Canyon.

There wasn't a creek here before. I guess we have had quite a bit of moisture this year! Our local ski hill is at the top of the charts for the most snowfall this season. Too bad we didn't get season ski passes this year.
This was before the current storm. Mt. Rose is nearing 700". We'll see if they get it!
Anyway, as we hiked Shay reminded us of the pioneers walking across the plains to the west. I'm happy I live today when we have down coats and heated vehicles to go back to. It's nice to be reminded of our blessings!

They make me happy!

Art

My girls love crafting, painting, drawing, and all things related to art. Yesterday we spent a couple of hours at Lake Mansion participating in all sorts of art activities. My girls were in creative heaven.
