Earth Day

Earth Day has always been one of my favorite holidays. Is that weird? It shouldn't be. I count the earth as one of my greatest blessings. I love its beauty and splendor.

Cayben was sick today, so we mostly had a low-key day. We did squeeze in an evening hike with the girls.

This was an accidental picture, but I think it really captures Nevada's beauty.

Also, my contribution to Earth Day this year was making a composting bin. I'm so excited about it! It cost $16 rather than $100 for a pre-made tumbler. I simply drilled holes all over a dark, giant tote. It's small enough that I can easily "tumble" the compost on my own. I'm so excited to put the sun's energy and love back into my garden and to keep compostable material out of the landfill. I believe little things can make a difference for my earth! Now I'm going to get off my hippy rant and end this post! Happy Earth Day!

Average Pace: 1 Mile Per Hour

Little kids sure know how to take their time and appreciate their surroundings! (That there is a euphemism. Ha!)

In reality though, I love being outside, and I love seeing kids happy in nature. I'd go hiking with this crowd any day!

Surprise Baby Shower

I serve in the Young Women's program at church. Three of the seven YW's leaders are having babies soon, so us non-pregnant leaders decided to throw a surprise baby shower. It was fun celebrating these awesome ladies and their soon-to-be babies!

Egg Hunt

For the 3rd consecutive year, I have taken my kids to a community Easter egg hunt put on by a local church. We love it every time!

Smarty Pants

My kids might be some of the wildest people I have ever known, but I'm happy to say they do well in school. Both Cayben and Embrie made the Principal's List for getting all A's on their report cards this quarter.
