Another First Day

Gosh, summer is short! School is already back in session around these parts. Cayben is in 5th grade. Embrie is in 2nd. Solee will start kindergarten next week.

These people are growing like weeds!

We made sure to do some after school bribery celebrating at Olive Garden and the race track!
It was torturing Shay and Cayben to just watch Solee play a game. Ha!

Kick Off to Summer Break

School is finally out for summer...or at least for a short 8 week summer! Our neighbors and friends invited us over for a barbecue to start the summer right! A visit from an ice cream truck was nice too.

Check out the name of this company! HA!

I'm excited for all the fun that will be had this summer! Woohoo for my favorite time of year!

Gardening

As it turns out, gardening is really fun!
This tree was planted late last summer when we had our yard landscaped, and it already has peaches!
The cherry tree is infested with aphids. Hopefully the ladybugs will fix that problem.

Family Night

When the sun is shining Family Night means we're on an adventure! Shay pulled the doors off the Jeep and we cruised out to Frenchman Lake. The road out there is so pretty, and the lake is great too!

June

I love the month of June. This Saturday we spent the day at the nearby splash park and the evening hiking into the sunset! Soon my kids will be out of school and every day will feel like Saturday. I can't wait!

Earth Day

Earth Day has always been one of my favorite holidays. Is that weird? It shouldn't be. I count the earth as one of my greatest blessings. I love its beauty and splendor.

Cayben was sick today, so we mostly had a low-key day. We did squeeze in an evening hike with the girls.

This was an accidental picture, but I think it really captures Nevada's beauty.

Also, my contribution to Earth Day this year was making a composting bin. I'm so excited about it! It cost $16 rather than $100 for a pre-made tumbler. I simply drilled holes all over a dark, giant tote. It's small enough that I can easily "tumble" the compost on my own. I'm so excited to put the sun's energy and love back into my garden and to keep compostable material out of the landfill. I believe little things can make a difference for my earth! Now I'm going to get off my hippy rant and end this post! Happy Earth Day!

Average Pace: 1 Mile Per Hour

Little kids sure know how to take their time and appreciate their surroundings! (That there is a euphemism. Ha!)

In reality though, I love being outside, and I love seeing kids happy in nature. I'd go hiking with this crowd any day!
